I enjoyed a bespoke session at the British Wildlife Centre photographing four of their owls in nearby woodland during the bluebell season. Sadly, they were not able to fly the owls this year as a Barn owl made a break for freedom last year and headed to the top of the trees where he stubbornly remained!
This baby Cuckoo was being raised by a pair of Reed Warblers at the side of a lake in Lincolnshire. It was exhausting to watch the little Warblers working their socks off to feed this monster bird they thought they had given birth to in their nest, returning on average every minute during the four hour period that I had the privilege of watching them. My thanks to Tom Robinson of Wildlife Photography Hides for providing this truly magical opportunity.

I had a terrific encounter that lasted well over an hour in total with this pair of Buzzards at Tom Robinson’s ‘Dyke Hide’ in February 2025. As they devoured a Pheasant breakfast, I couldn’t believe my eyes when one nonchalantly strolled right in front of them - obviously he had a death wish.
Footage from a session in Lincolnshire @wildlifehides where I decided to have a bash at some video footage of these fantastic and entertaining birds.
Making some new friends at Skomer Island during a coffee break!
